Liz Krick is a Philadelphia based visual artist who works in painting, sculpture and photography. Krick studied painting at the Tyler School of Art. She has always explored other mediums in relationship to her painting. Using this multidisciplinary approach Krick explores themes based around female identity, mental illness and social corruption. The work seeks to delve into ideas of duality using symbols associated with innocence and whimsy such as dolls, anthropomorphic creatures and images of children. She combines these images with visceral mark making and loud color to create works that are both confrontational and attractive
